Saturday 6th Oct

Heading South
Vic and I had a wonderful romantic dinner at the Coral Sea Resort , with a bottle of white wine, the restaurant overlooked the blue pool and the Harbour.
We walked back to our apartment which was on top of steep road that shook the dinner down.
The boys went back to the sailing club and had sausages and mash and of course a few beers.
We left at 7am as we were going to meet the president of the Mackay ulysses for morning tea at his home.
Alan stayed back at Airlie beach as he was doing his scuba dive and will meet us in Gympie tomorrow.
The weather is now warming up it was 20 c when we left at 7
We followed the Bruce Highway with Denis leading ,it was a very sedate ride we meandered in and out of the cane fields and we could smell the molasses from the cane factory.

Arriving at the Presidents home there was cake and biscuits coffee and tea made us all very welcome, this is where Alan will be spending the night tonight after his dive.I reckon more t shirts and coins will be presented and photos..;-)
The Bruce Highway has many road works which had Lollie pop men working on Saturday,it must drive the truckies mad as you have to stop ever twenty klm or so.
Refueling at Marlbrough we headed for Rockhampton, Frank was in the lead but he was about 5 klms in front of us,he missed the turn to the motel.
The weather got to 30 c and  it was wonderful to have a cool shower when we arrived
