Day 5-6 Sunshine Coast 29- 30 th Sept.
The day 5 was spent at the Drs to find out what was causing his dizziness
After having a ESG and acupuncture and a blood test. The Dr says that he was not having a heart attack or there was nothing that he could pin point.
We were picked up at 4-15 by car and taken to CottonTree where a BBQ was waiting for us , about 35 Sunshine coast Ulysses members had put on a great spread.Meeting some old faces and introduced to some new members. Also it was Alan's Birthday so they had a little sing song for him, they also presented him with a medal and a small flag he was chuffed had lamingtons fingers for the cake
It was a very enjoyable evening it was all over by 6-30 and we were driven back to our Motel.
It was a very tiring day and we were a sleep by 8-30
Today 6 30th Sept.
Mark the president of the Sunshine Coast picked us up at 8 am as we were going for a ride with this branch into the Hinterland. The weather is not good as it had rained during the night and was still raining .
We meet up with other members at the Ettmunga pub so we have about 25 riders.
Bruce ? Took the lead on his Goldwing and we all set off ,I was a pillion today,
He led us through some very pretty valleys and of course many twisties, the road was still wet and it was just drizzling.
We stopped for morning tea which overlooked the Glasshouse mountains and had our photo taken.
Then back onto the twisties and narrow back roads, Frank and Alan were both getting twitchy as we were doing the speed limits and in convoy, just like Ulyssians do.But they could not contain themselves, so they took off overtaking on double lines and crests and blind corners. When we stopped to see a train go by (which broke down) they were told off by the leader as they said they were riding dangerously.
More twisties and some dips which had lips we nearly got airborne ,the road just meandered around the valleys just beautiful scenery.
Having lunch at a Hotel which was very good and quick they led us back onto the Bruce Highway and took us back to Moolooaba.
It was a very enjoyable ride.
Getting back we have refueled, we bought some cheese and biscuits on the day so now we are all set up watching he football Eating cheese and nibbles and a few ales.
All the guys are in our room so I have moved into next door
