Rest day in Budapest Day 5
After a hardy breakfast of cereal, cheese, cold meats and a boiled egg. Five of us decided to catch a bus and go to the central markets.
We bought a returned ticket from reception we caught bus 112 to town. It was quite an experience as nobody asked where we were to alight. We all decided to get off where we thought, and Alan and Vic got out their GPSs to get the directions to the markets. Alan ended up in a garden where he got reception from the satellite I don’t think Vic’s worked as he was reading from a paper map.
After a while we were headed into the right direction, the markets were in an under covered building built in 1896 and it was huge, Fruit , vegetables, all sorts of meats, clothing ,tablecloths by the thousands. Lots of paprika in all sorts of bottles tins, little canvases sacks, bottles of wine and even that horrible stuff from last night. Unicon Alan bought a big bottle he must have liked the taste.
We left the markets and walked the streets looking for an ice creamy parlour, but instead we found a Norwegian food out let and had a beaut salad. Then we found the ice creamy.
Seeing we had two ice creams we walked back to the hotel, our route was to walk across the chain bridge through the tunnel, carrying all the goodies from the market made it hard going for some of us.
Arriving back at the Hotel Rozle calls and said that Charlie has broken his ankle and is flying home to the USA his wife Sharon is going to finish the trip on the back of him as she is really enjoying the ride.
Vic has now got Charlies 1200 GS as it is much big to put in the van, and our little 600GS is a lot lighter and fits in the Van
We are now off to dinner in the little cafe on the corner
Tomorrows ride is to Smokovec 340kl
