Romanian tour 17 1 st July
Breakfast at 7-30 at the restaurant that overlooked the Black Sea, clutch out a 9 am.itwas already very hot so we all sat under trees and Matej sort of gave us a briefing ?
It was going to be a fast ride back to Bucharest , he shortened the route due to the weather as it was going to be 37 c.
We left at 9-10 a up over the white cliffs, Anne nearly got cleaned up, as she drifted across the road a car was passing us all very fast , there was a great scream of breaks and the smell of rubber as the car just missed her.
We again rode through villages and sunflower fields is was very pretty, stopped for morning tea at a small road side cafe , saw a donkey pulling a cart and then the rotary hoe with is cart all this rural stuff.
We were going to have lunch in Bucharest ,we got to the border and they took our passports and we waited and waited and waited in the hot sun for over an hour (not happy Jan) after we were processed we headed for a ferry that would take us across the Danube to Romania.
We are patiently waiting our turn to load when Anne and Barry came roaring pass Vic and Neil nearly knocking them over ,Anne screams at the ferry master "get out of my way" as she revved the motor over the steel ramps.
Vic is not impressed he spoke to them (nicely) as it now 2 pm we have lunch on the river as we still had 140 kl to go and the heat is oppressive.
Arriving at out hotel at about 5pm champagne welcome drink was had by all in the foyer a very nice gesture
All our bags are in the rooms so now we got changed and headed out for our farewell dinner .It was a fantastic restaurant beaut food and quick service,
Had a little entertainment and some of our table participated it was a fun night
Said our good byes to Rozle and Klem as they have other engagement
We walked back to the hotel at 11
Only a couple of friends were made on this trip .the family were not a happy people they came from Chicago and were a riding club (dirt)
So thats all folks we are off to catch the plane to Amsterdam then to Kula Lumpa then home on Wednesday
Sure hope you enjoyed our adventure sure there are more stories to tell
